A celebration of Sequentia's 50th anniversary

A celebration of Sequentia's 50th anniversary is being planned in Köln for 10-11 April, 2027, exactly 50 years to the day after the first concert under the name 'Sequentia' was given by a group of graduates from the Schola Cantorum in Basel. The celebration will hopefully include a gala concert of the program 'Muses of the Spheres' and a cinema party featuring never-before-seen videos of performances from the ensemble's early years. To honor this event, Sequentia's co-founder and director is planning to finish a history of the ensemble's formation and establishment in Basel and Köln in 1977, including the first ten years of activity, the first recordings, the first international tours, and the beginning of the Hildegard von Bingen project.
